The 5-star Nobis Hotel opened in September in a classical mansion dating from 1903, which used to be home to the Royal Danish Academy of Music. The heritage building has many elegant old features that contrast beautifully with the hotel’s modern interior, designed by renowned Swedish architect Gert Wingårdh. Chef Jeppe Foldager, Bocuse d’Or silver medalist, impresses in the gourmet Restaurant Niels, while the hotel’s spa and fitness area in raw Italian marble are uncommonly elegant. A top-class hotel with a super-central location between Islands Brygge, Tivoli and the Glyptotek.

Hotel Sanders
Several years ago, Alexander Kølpin, former principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet, swapped the stage for the hotel industry, taking over a couple of little gems in Tisvildeleje Badehotel and Helenekilde. The latest addition is the Sanders boutique hotel, located behind the Royal Danish Theater, where Kølpin grew into his ballet shoes. The hotel is decorated in a warm, modern, Bohemian style with subtle theatrical references, such as the hotel bar, TATA, which is named after the stage curtain. The aim is to create a luxurious and homely place with exceptional personal service. The hotel has personal trainers who are happy to come to you, for example, or you can enjoy a backstage tour at The Royal Danish Ballet.

The Krane
It may well sound like an ambitious undertaking to transform an old coal crane into a luxury retreat. But Copenhagen’s unusual two-person hotel, The Krane, proves that nothing is impossible. From the outside it has all the appearances of a working crane, but inside all the industrial remnants have been stripped away and replaced with a luxurious spa and minimalist, modern designer furnishings. The Krane is located in Nordhavn and is designed for those who appreciate quality time for themselves with views of the sea and sky. There’s a BMW at your disposal throughout your stay.

Vipp Loft
The Vipp brand is well-known for its pedal bin, but has expanded its range with luxurious one-room hotels at selected locations. With 400m2 spread over two floors, Vipp Loft in Copenhagen is a gigantic suite, characterized by simple Nordic design with lots of natural light, exposed beams, a fireplace and a large open kitchen. Loft can sleep four adults and is located above Vipp’s head office in a historic building dating from 1901. On its doorstep is Islands Brygge, with its harbor baths, cafés and plenty of Copenhagen life.
